This policy explains how Cleverbench — a software studio based in East Legon, Accra, Ghana, operating thecleverbench.com — collects and uses personal data when you visit the site, get in touch, or subscribe to our service. We are the data controller for that information.

• Contact and account details — your name, email, phone number, and company when you enquire or subscribe.
• Project material — briefs, feedback, files, credentials, and any content you share so we can carry out your requests.
• Correspondence — the messages you send us by email, the request board, or call.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data — basic, mostly aggregated information such as pages visited, approximate location, browser, and device, gathered to keep the site working and improve it.
• Cookies — small files used for essential site function and, where you allow it, light analytics. See “Cookies” below.

Payment information

Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your full card number — the processor handles that under its own security standards and privacy policy. We only receive confirmation of payment and the billing details needed for our records.

• To handle billing, renewals, and our own accounting and tax records.
• To respond to enquiries and keep you informed about your subscription.
• To maintain, secure, and improve our website and service.

We rely on the lawful bases of performing our contract with you, your consent (which you can withdraw), our legitimate interest in running and improving the studio, and compliance with the law.

04 Who we share it with

We don’t sell your personal data or trade it. We share it only with the parties needed to run the service, each held to protect it:

• Service providers — payment processing, hosting, email, and the tools that power your request board.
• Professional advisers and authorities — where we’re legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims.
• A successor — if the studio is ever restructured or transferred, your data may pass to the successor under this same policy.

05 How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected — for the life of your subscription and a reasonable period after, to honour legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. When it’s no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

06 How we protect it

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — access controls, encryption in transit, and a need-to-know approach — to guard your data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep the risk low and to act quickly if something goes wrong.

07 Cookies

Our site uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function, and may use limited analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings; turning off non-essential cookies won’t stop the site from working.

08 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy.
• Correct data that’s inaccurate or incomplete.
• Ask us to delete your data where there’s no overriding reason to keep it.
• Object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time.
• Ask for your data in a portable format.

09 International transfers

Some of our service providers operate outside Ghana, so your data may be processed in other countries. Where it is, we take reasonable steps to ensure it stays protected to a standard consistent with this policy.

10 Children

Our service is meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

11 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to let you know.
